About my photographs

My photography is based on two simple principles. First, I believe there is beauty and grace to be found everywhere; my task is to learn to see it. Second, I believe that the more honest I am about what I feel

when I am immersed in a scene, the more successful my photographs will be. These are the two principles

I carry with me as I travel the roads and trails of our region.

I work to get beyond the surface of a scene. I try to capture the flowing patterns of light and shadow on

the snow, the contemplative mood as mist rises from the water, and the energy of the river as it runs over

the flat rocks.
