The Ammonoosuc Artists Gallery at the historic Tannery Marketplace, 111 Saranac Street in Littleton, NH, is owned and operated by Littleton resident artist Bob Copeland, who paints out of his adjacent North-of-the-Notch Studio. Bob will be familiar to many New Englanders from his 37 years as Boston area radio and television Meteorologist.
The Tannery Marketplace is located at the site of the old Saranac Glove Company and Tannery on the banks of the beautiful Ammonoosuc River in Littleton, where owners Ray and Sarah Cloutier have been operating the well-known ADMAC Salvage and recycling business for over 10 years. Ray Cloutier is very enthusiastic about the changes at the Tannery, saying, "I have long held the idea that there should be a place for artists and the arts at the Tannery and it is exciting to see this vision begin to come to reality. I foresee the Tannery Marketplace evolving into a 'must see destination' for residents and visitors to Littleton and the North Country."
The Ammonoosuc Artists Gallery features work of about a dozen northern New Hampshire and Vermont
artists and artisans:
Leah Benedict of Barnett, VT, is famous for her 60 foot surround mural of historic Vermont at the Octagon Building in St. Johnsbury. Leah creates her oil paintings with classic treatment of light and atmosphere in the impressionists style.
Tim Breen, captures well-known and obscure North Country scenes in his sensitive photographs, including many stunning black and white images.
Bob Copeland focuses on photography, painting, and printmaking. His "Abstractions from Nature" include cloud montages and extreme close-ups. Bob also accepts commissions for pastel portraits and large oil landscapes.
Well-known Bethlehem artist Amy Delventhal's watercolors, oils, and prints demonstrate sensitive insights into the loves of her life…her family, her animals, her gardens and all of nature.
Sara Foss of Bethlehem creates watercolor landscapes and "Naive Paintings" of the North Country in a folk
art style.
West Stewartstown artist Patricia Klinefelter paints familiar North Country scenes as well as images from her world travels.
Bethlehem photographer Glenn Norris uses unique methods to capture nearly three-dimensional views of North Country interiors.
Photographer Peter Slattery ("Images by Slattery") of Bath captures beautiful images of NH and New England. Peter's wife Shirley is also showing several of her lovely stained glass creations.
